Hypocrisy in the Church.

I was on Facebook tonight when an add on the right hand side of my screen caught my attention. The caption above the picture read “NO To ‘Burn Korans Day'”. Usually I don’t look twice at them, but for some reason I was intrigued by this title. I clicked on the ad and it led me to  the article. You can read the article here:

I won’t recap the entire article, why ruin the surprise right? But in short, a Pastor in Florida is holding an event on September 11th, where he and interested people will gather to burn the Muslims holy book, the Quran.

It’s people like this man, who give Christianity such a bad name in society today. We’re supposed to be living examples of Christ in the world, what does taking another religions book and defiling it say about us?

This man is disrespectful and a hypocrite to the Christian faith. Why would someone who preaches the Word of God, have no remorse in rallying people up to disrespect another religion? It’s sickening to me. Christianity is constantly being mocked for being hypocritical, and it’s men like Pastor Jones who is responsible for it.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7:

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
