Merry [CHRIST]mas

Posted: December 24, 2009 in Uncategorized

Last night I was sitting around watching the movie The Nativity Story. It shows the story of Mary and Joseph during the time when she was pregnant with Jesus. While watching that movie I started to take note of something. How come the only time television stations play these sorts of movies is during holidays such as Christmas? Don’t get me wrong I think it’s a fantastic thing that big name networks are showing these films, instead of sticking with the stereotypical Santa movies. As a person who has given their like to God, it’s  a nice thing to see movies about the truth instead of a myth being shown around this time of year. Christmas has been made into a holiday idolizing a fat old man in a  red suit who sneaks into your house in the middle of the night and leaves you whatever you asked.Kind of sad that people throw Jesus to the side for old Saint Nick isn’t it?

This is a short entry, but it’s short and to the point. I have one thing to say that I hope that will stick in your mind this holiday as your with your family. The definition of Christmas is- the annual commemoration by Christians of the birth of Jesus Christ. So…. Shouldn’t we be remembering Jesus and glorifying Him on that day? What’s more important? What a fat old man brings to you, a material posession. Or remembering the Son of God Almighty?
